Custom Product Design

Working with customers based around our core technology, we design and manufacture m2fx custom client products as very specific fibre challenges often require a product designed and built fit for niche purposes.

Strategic Planning or Solutions

Need m2fx to come up with a solution to get from point A to point B or need a whole new way of managing fibre in your environment, either way we can help.

Home Install

Customer Install Pack

An example of m2fx problem solving and design skills. The cost of install increases dramatically as soon as installers have to go on an end user or customers land. The Home Install Pack provides everything they need to get connected.

History

Major industry player looking for an innovative new approach to FTTh

Challenge

Massive fragmentation of the last 100m needs a total rethink. DIY and deferred provision means an intellegent approach is required to solve the high cost of provision of the infrastructure. Increasingly, community built or owned projects require a lowest cost and no skill solution.

Solution

FTTh in a box. A customer install kit that allows the end user to self install their own fibre. Through standardisation of the drop solution, modular rather than bespoke products packaged together in an easy to install pack. Utilising the QuikPush m2fx connection system.

Hybrid Drop Duct

Hybrid Drop Duct

Product design, development and manufacture specifically fit for purpose solving a large Telecoms Companies future-proofing brief.

History

2/3rds of a Large Telecoms Companies final drop over head feeds needs to migrated across to FTTH. However, there is a limitation on the pole loading as the poles require the use of low loading cables. Drop wire 10 is standard, twisted pair works fine for telephony, backup service and current broadband.

Challenge

Have fibre ready capacity, yet still have backup for fibre system downtime on existing infrastructure.

Solution

Hybrid Drop Duct: Lower strain on fibre, upgradable fibre type/count and yet still has Drop Wire IO capability. This solved the problem of overcrowding cable on poles and both aesthetics and technical issues. The Hybrid Drop Duct is also suitable for use on shared poles with low voltage electricity supply cables.

DAS

Microtrench for Distributed Antenna System (DAS)

Great product planning and product development that enabled a large US Carrier to solve a multitude of fibre routing issues.

History

The US Carrier had product failure from their existing duct (not m2fx) solution.

Challenge

Overcome the extremes that caused the issues, protect the fibre yet remain flexible enough to route to the DAS masts.

Solution

The solution required a small OD duct to withstand high levels of crushing force, bend around the tight angles provided by the slot cutter and withstand the very high temperature of molten bitumen. Then a UV resistant flexible duct for the above ground connection.
